How to Prepare for the Second Inning in MLB The Show 25

There are only three more days until the much-anticipated 2nd Inning Program. The Show Gazette will be highlighting a few things you can do to ensure you have the fastest progress possible through the XP Reward Path.

The first of these is collecting each of the three 1st Inning XP Reward Path bosses — Manny Ramirez, Adrian Beltre and Mark McGwire. This will acquire a voucher for 30k XP in the 2nd Inning. The "sell now" price is hovering between 18-20k stubs if you haven’t acquired these guys already.

The second is more pertinent if you are similar to myself and have not finished all of the Conquest maps. If this is the case, you should complete the map up to its penultimate tile. This will be prime and ready for completion once the new path goes live. Here is a list of the conquest maps and their corresponding XP rewards for completion.

  • Grapefruit, 5k
  • Cactus, 5k
  • USA East/West/Central, 5k each
  • Shamrock, 5k
  • ‘25’, 5k
  • Apple, 4.5k
  • Baseball, 3.5k
  • Sword, 1.5k

Mini Seasons provide another opportunity for you to effectively preload XP. If you haven’t completed either of the Mini Seasons, it might be better to complete up to (and not including) the last game of the regular season. Once you move to the playoffs, you will gain 5,000 XP and another 5,000 XP upon winning the championship.

If you have already completed the Mini Season previously, progress all the way to the championship series and leave it ready to collect your 5,000 XP upon winning the title once the new reward path drops.

Lastly, each team’s Team Affinity Reward Path rewards 4,500 XP at 30,000 TA points. The Quick Impact missions will help you get close to these. Each of these missions reward 5,000 TA points, allowing the preparation grind to be that much easier, and they can be completed in every game mode except casual multiplayer.

Do these things and fly through the early stages of the 2nd Inning Program. Thank us later.
